Catch the bus? Here’s a heads up.
Metro is switching to Motu Move, a new way to pay for buses and ferries. From 23 November, Metrocard and cash will no longer be accepted, so all bus users need to choose a new way to pay.
You can pay with:
• your debit or credit card
• your smartphone or smartwatch
• a prepaid Motu Move card
Most people can get set up online in a few minutes at motumove.govt.nz. That’s also where to link a travel concession, like a child fare or free SuperGold travel. If you need a prepaid card, you can pick one up from a Motu Move retailer near you: https://www.motumove.govt.nz/en/retail-locations
Need a bit of extra help? The Motu Move team is here at Barrington Mall, next to The Warehouse, from 9am to 5pm every day from Monday 19 October (with 10am starts on Sundays). They’re on hand for anyone who’d like help in person getting set up.
Coming by bus? The Orbiter and routes 44, 60 and 120 all stop at Barrington Mall.
If you choose a Motu Move card, bring a bank card for the $5 top-up. They can’t take cash.
